QuickBooks "Meetup" Groups Provide Mentoring, Support, Jobs

All over the U.S. QuickBooks® "meetup groups", like Seattle's QuickBooks® "Talk and Client Swap, are getting professionals together to find mentors, jobs, clients, staff, and mutual support.
Several members have hired other members for entry-level positions and freed themselves in the process, or found a bookkeeper for a client, or found the perfect add-on for a client. Some members have found a mentor, someone who will let them “tag along” on QuickBooks® consultations to learn the ropes. It seems everyone understands that getting together locally strengthens QuickBooks® consulting practices.
Members continue to "talk and client swap" between meetings, posting jobs and finding clients on their meetup's private discussion boards. The leverage of a larger group can be used to benefit all the individuals with training, as in the case of in 2011 when Intuit decided to stop its long-standing tradition of providing live "What's New in QuickBooks" seminars, an event that many of the NW QuickBooks meetup members attended annually and looked forward to. So the NW QuickBooks meetup groups of Seattle and Bellevue WA joined forces to put on the event themselves, with the materials, door prize, and other support provided by Intuit through the Intuit Accounting Professionals Trainer/Writer Network. More information on the live training: Intuit's annual "What's New in QuickBooks for You and Your Clients".
